producing / songwriting
"Sarah’s ability to translate music as it evolves from [an artist's] mind to [an] audience is top tier. Her creative influence is strategic, yet necessary to bring [an artist's] sound to its highest level of listening."
- Amanda Zurich, Artist Manager
My absolute favorite part about making music is the collaboration behind it. I have given advice to many different types of musicians ranging from pop to EDM to rock to country and more. I have written songs entirely from scratch and have also consulted on songs that have already been written. I have the experience and resources that you want to help you through the pre-production phases of writing/recording your song.
In addition to helping musicians during the writing process, I have also helped musicians during the recording process. I am a vocal teacher so I can warm you up, fine tune your vocal melodies, help you come up with harmonies, and more. I can also help you write additional layers whether it be lead guitar parts, piano, synths, or anything else. Whether your song is just a guitar and voice or a more flourished idea, I promise that I can help make your song or album the best it can possibly be.
Live Sound
“Pascack Valley HS had the pleasure of working with Sarah as our Sound Designer for four large-scale musicals. She organized a crew of students, designed a 24+ mic plot, and taught students how to mix the show. Sarah is efficient, hard-working, and great at troubleshooting problems. I'd hire her again in a heartbeat!”
- Tom Lupfer, Dir: Pascack Valley Theater
When I was getting my degree in Music Technology at NYU,
I quickly learned that live sound was my favorite part about audio engineering. I believe that being a part of the artist’s production and helping them bring their performance to life is one of the most rewarding jobs I’ve ever had.
I have done live sound for weddings, plays, musicals, concerts, and more. I have worked with classical musicians, pop artists, rock bands, DJs, theaters, and venues to name a few. Whatever type of performance you are having, I have the equipment, knowledge, and means of amplifying your sound.
Performing
“Apart from helping me with my own music, Sarah is an excellent performer. Anyone who has seen her perform can attest to her abilities to light up the room with her energy: it is as electric as she is. I have always admired Sarah’s ability to perform; her fluid and effortless runs makes it hard to believe she wasn’t born making music!”
- Gabby Steinfeld, musician
Need someone to perform at your wedding? Need entertainment for your party or event? Are you a venue looking for new and fresh talent? I can provide all of these types of performances for you as a solo artist OR with a full band!
I have consistently performed by myself and with a band for the past ten years. I currently write for and perform with a pop-rock/alternative group named Clouded Filter, before that with a group called McCalister. In addition to my bands, I have also spent a lot of time writing and performing music by myself. Whatever vibe you are going for, I am the musician for you!
Teaching
“My lesson with Sarah was always one of the best parts of my week. She's so friendly, witty, and fun that she automatically made me feel comfortable and enthusiastic whenever I was around her. She really knows what she's talking about, and she taught me so many valuable skills that drastically improved my abilities as a musician, and that I'll carry with me wherever I go.”
- Camryn, vocal student
I have been teaching children of all ages voice, guitar, piano
and bass at the School of Rock in Cresskill, NJ for the past two years. I started out with a handful of students and have now grown to have approximately thirty students that I actively teach every week.
In addition to my private lessons, I also teach three different types of group classes. One class, entitled Rock Rookies, teaches basic music concepts including rhythm and pitch to children ages 5-7. Another class, entitled Rock 101, teaches children who are just starting out on their chosen instrument how to play with other beginner musicians. The final class, or as School of Rock calls it the Performance Program, teaches more advanced students the foundation of musicianship, harmony, and how to play in a rock band. Students learn a specific setlist of about 20-25 songs over the course of four months, which they then perform at a local venue.
